Cover Letter
My goal in submitting this scholarship application is to obtain money for college through a way in which I feel both comfortable and confident: art.
I feel I am a good match for this scholarship because of my love for art, as well as my need for money. My parents have made it clear to me they are not capable of providing any sort of financial support for college, leaving me to obtain it on my own. I have applied for financial aid, and I plan to work at the college I attend in order to earn money; though I would prefer to direct both my time and energy toward schooling. I would like to put forth money I receive toward books, tuition, housing, food, and, possibly, transportation. It would be a huge weight lifted from both my parents’ and my shoulders to know I have money to help pay for my education.
Majority of my art is composed of projects but as I have progressed and advanced in my art my art teacher has given me free reign on what I decide to create and what direction I wish to go. I have discovered how to let go, explore, learn, and, more recently, tell a story. I have also found a love in charcoal, water color, and ink, while familiarizing myself with pen sketches and anatomy.
